Cycling –Saint-Raphaël is a sun-drenched coastal resort town on the Cote D’Azure about 40 kms west of Cannes.
For this ride we parked our car on the coast just west of Cannes, on the Boulevard du Midi Louise Moreau, and set out heading west. Sticking to the coast highway, we were treated to sunny vistas of the sea and the coastal hills. Riding through the L’Esterel was spectacular, and returning here for additional rides or hikes is a must.
We stopped for coffee and croissants in the center of Saint-Raphaël before heading north in to the hills for the climb of the day. Through a busy Frejus, we emerged onto a relatively quiet road climbing to the 310m high Col de Testanier.
We then closed the loop heading east back through the hills, and down the the coast again near Théoule-sur-Mer, and back to the car in Cannes.
