Midterm Break: Soggy in Italy, Part 1

Not knowing the language of the countries you travel has advantages and disadvantages.  The fact we travelled to across the Italian coast when there was a travel advisory due to the weather was somewhat of a disadvantage.

Cogoleto, Italy

Cogleto, Italy
Cogoleto sans storm

A storm is coming.  The waves were so big and powerful, I decided to take a video – not realizing how extraordinary the weather was, just thinking, this must be the weather in Italy in October.

Left side – my video                                                Right side, 4+ hours later

We did have a fantastic meal at Baixacò, Antipasto, Primo, Secondo, Dolce, Vino €11

Then, we just kept on driving into the storm

La Spezia is spectacular in theory, we didn’t see much of it unfortunately.

The Weather

Here is a quick overview of our time in the beautiful city of La Spezia

Good thing we couldn’t read or understand Italian.  Trains were cancelled, travel advisories were issued, and we sat around and made fun of Tim playing Red Dead Redemption.
