Limone Piemonte

I loved Limone! (Limonee) It has a cobblestoned town with quaint restaurants and coffee shops, tons of terrain, and fast uncrowded lifts. The only negative would be that the town felt a bit deserted. Many shutters on the hotels and apartments were closed and there was a mild feeling of neglect. It could have been because there wasn’t a ton of snow, or perhaps it was because of the lackluster Italian economy. I will report any new findings when I go back.

Limone is in Italy so it was nice to take a break from raclette and enjoy hardy italian dishes. We tried Tre Nazioni which may have tried a bit too hard to offer nouveau cuisine, but was a pleasant meal regardless.

The Grand Hotel Principe

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Principe which was a treat. The hotel has kept its original bones – you feel a bit like you have stepped back in time when ski vacations were outfitted with thick sweaters and lace up boots. The communal space was cozy while somehow maintaining a feeling of grandeur. It is a short walk to the main gondola and to Limone.
