Cervinia

Cervinia is heaven on earth but you ski instead of float! I absolutely loved Cervinia! Its biggest advantage is that it connects with Zermatt for endless skiing possibilities. Cervinia is a 5 hour drive from our place in France, and Zermat is a 7+ hour drive plus train ride, so, staying in Cervinia to skip the long commute was worth it. We had to take 2 gondolas to get to Zermatt – but it was worth it – but it’s time to stop typing and show you!

La Cresta Chalet

La Cresta Chalet has a northern European sensibility about it – it’s very clean and orderly in a comfortable but no-nonsense kind of way. The kitchen was perfectly appointed, as were the 2 bedrooms in our apartment. Soft sheets, king beds and loads of storage made for an extremely relaxing stay. The outdoor hot-tub has a very ingenious cover (it rolls on and off on a track) and the spa is an added perk. I don’t understand star ratings but Google stays it’s a 2 star hotel. I think this may be because they don’t have an onsite restaurant. It was closest to a 5 star hotel in my opinion. Every day they would deliver a breakfast basket filled with pastries, eggs and ham, along with delicious juices, smoothies and yogurts. The kitchen was stocked with cereals, crackers and cookies. My only complaint is that the couldn’t furnish us with lactose free milk.

After a long day of leg-aching skiing, so nice to hit the hot tub and spa!
