Berlin, Germany

Every now and again it’s fun to take a trip sans kids – offering parents some much needed time to do whatever they want without complaints and comprises haunting each experience. Berlin was such a trip!

Growing up, Berlin was that odd city that was cut into two parts by an expansive wall. The stories of life on the Eastern side of the wall were cautionary tales about living in a socialist state. So – when I went to Berlin, I couldn’t wait to see this monstrosity.

And that concludes the educational portion of this blog post

Berlin is all about the night-life. All night dance clubs and raves are peppered throughout the city, hidden in old buildings and warehouses. We were lucky enough to get behind-the-dj for Soulbutton’s performance.

One thing you will notice about Berlin is that it has a very urban feeling – the night seems to creep into the day wherever you are. At night, Berlin is at peace with itself – like it is finally home.

Staying at the Soho House Berlin, well almost any Soho House is like staying in an adult playground. The vibe, decor, amenities, bespoke drinks and service make it a must. Berlin did not disappoint. My room was categorized as tiny, but it was bigger than most Manhattan hotel rooms. It was eclectic and cozy with an amazing bathroom and shower.

Room service was divine and Cecconi’s, on the main floor is the perfect mix of bespoke cocktails and more-ish food. (Pictured – my partners in crime)
